Philosophy
K-Prep provides a creative, fun and educational program while emphasizing cognitive development and socialization. We feel that exploring, sharing, discovering, experimenting and understanding are the ways in which children learn best.
Mission
Children at K-Prep have the opportunity to learn and grow through art, music, socialization and other academic experiences. We encourage a positive self image by providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere. We recognize the importance of the first years in a child's life and that parents need their child to feel comfortable while being away from home. At K-Prep we help pave the way to a solid academic foundation, build self-esteem and lead a child to discover the love of learning.
Community
K-Prep is a non-profit organization that has been providing quality preschool classes to Waukesha and surrounding area families for more than three decades. Originally founded as Southminister PreSchool, we re-launched as Kindergarten Preparatory Preschool (K-Prep) at our current location (corner of Eastmound and Bluemound 1/2 mile west of Springdale road) in July 2006.
We are a state licensed preschool that operates under a Director and an all-volunteer Board of Directors made up of parents, guardians and local community members.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to get involved at K-Prep; there are numerous opportunities including classroom helpers, volunteers at our social events, bake-sales and site maintenance days.
We know that family time and friendships are especially important to Preschoolers so we host family activities and opportunities to socialize throughout the year.
Like all non-profits K-Prep relies on fund-raisers to supplement its 'General Operating Funds' and enable us to keep fees affordable for all our families. In 2010 we hosted our first annual raffle fundraiser and were overwhelmed by the generosity of local organizations who donated prizes and by the enthusiasm of our families selling tickets.
